Purpose

Note: this online help for LBASE Online is optimised for Internet Explorer.

Access

The final item in the LBASE menu is the help.

Tip: you can return to the topic you previously accessed at any time by clicking your browser’s Back button. This is recommended if you have followed a hyperlink through see topic, for example, as the table of contents always displays the currently selected topic.

Target group

This online help is aimed at users such as carriers, forwarding companies or partner companies, as well as customers who want to use the LBASE Online system.

Structure of the topics

The help has a modular structure and the topics are designed uniformly. However, deviations are possible. The section below provides an example of a topic structure.

The see indicator refers you to a more advanced or related topic, which can be accessed via a hyperlink.

 

Example: supplementary examples are indicated by text that is highlighted in yellow prefixed by the word ‘Example’.

Admin  Configuration

Clicking this icon provides additional information for the administrator.

By clicking the configuration, you can, for example, obtain information about which settings can be made in the LBASE Online configurator for the functions described.

Glossary

Terms that are explained in the glossary are identified by red, italic lettering.

Example: organization unit An organization unit (OU) describes the organizational context in which the internet user is active. (OU) describes the organizational context in which the internet user is active.

Clicking the term displays an explanation of it next to the term.

Help functions

Note: if a help topic is opened in the web browser, it has a different appearance. However, the functions are identical.

  • Show/hide: expands or shortens the help by the left navigation.

  • Refresh: the current contents are refreshed.

  • Home: opens the main page of the help file.

  • Print: prints individual pages or chapters of the help.

  • Options: personal settings for the help system.

  • Contents: the table of contents is located in the Contents tab, in which you are initially provided with all the general information about LBASE Online. The individual LBASE Online functions are then explained in the order in which they appear in the menu structure.

  • Index: an index with the key terms displays an alphabetic catalogue under the Index tab. Words that do not appear in the index can still be found via the Search  tab.

  • Search: under Search you can use a full text search on a word basis. If the desired word is not found, you can enter the word's stem or only part of the word. Searching for shipment will, for example, find results such as shipment search. Enter new shipment Release shipment and so on. Multiple terms can also be combined using logical operators such as AND, OR and NOT or jokers (*) can be used.

  • Favorites: this tab allows you to store key pages as favourites and thus find these again quickly at a later time. The current help page can be added to your favourites by clicking Add.
